Managers at The Underground have scaled back the campus pub's hours this semester for economic reasons.
The student hangout spot and concert venue in Faunce House will now be open from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday nights. It had been open from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. last semester.
"Nobody really comes here before 9, so you're paying staff to be there, and there really wasn't any business," said Phil O'Hara, assistant director of student activities.
The Underground is funded by its own revenue and the University Finance Board. Student employees operate The Underground, but the University hires a supervisor to oversee the site.
