A power outage on Pembroke Campus Thursday night affected a number of buildings, including Alumnae Hall, Smith-Buonanno Hall, Pembroke Hall and Emery, Woolley, Morriss and Champlin residence halls.
The outage occurred about 7 p.m. The exact cause of the problem remains unknown, according to notices posted on Pembroke campus from Derek Henries, manager of the service response center at Facilities Management. However, a malfunction in an electrical room in The Gate earlier that evening prompted a visit from four fire trucks from the Providence Fire Department and forced the snack bar to close around 6 p.m. An inspector from PFD who was on the scene said there was little damage to The Gate and that he expected it to be open Friday.
Power was restored around 9:30 p.m. Thursday night.
