Web update: Anti-war activists protest during Clinton's lecture

About half a dozen anti-war protestors attempted to disrupt a talk by Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., held in Brown University's Meehan Auditorium Saturday night, chanting anti-war slogans and displaying anti-war signs during her speech.

Clinton continued her lecture about female leadership as the protestors were eventually removed to the applause of the nearly 3,500 in attendance. The senator received a standing ovation upon her introduction and at the conclusion of her speech.

Clinton, delivering the inaugural lecture of the Doherty-Granoff Forum on Women Leaders, criticized the Bush administration for its "extraordinary claims of power" and other domestic and foreign policies, including contributions to the country's fiscal deficit and its alleged failure to adequately address global warming concerns.
