The men’s soccer team stayed undefeated and perfect on the defensive side this weekend after two closely contested games in the Brown Soccer Classic. The Bears shut out the University of South Carolina 1-0 and drew 0-0 against Hofstra.

Glick ’10 brings power plays to pool

Women’s water polo tri-captain Sarah Glick ’10 may only be 5 feet 4 inches tall, but she’s been a huge part of the team in her time at Brown. Glick ranks as the all-time leader in points in a season and a career at Brown, as her 82 goals and 72 assists this season have raised her career totals to 282 goals and 257 assists. This past week, she scored nine goals, including five in her last home game, a 14-10 victory over Harvard.

After an overtime loss to No. 11 Hartwick on Saturday, the women’s water polo team bounced back to beat Harvard, 14-10, at home on Sunday. With the victory over Harvard — who had beaten Brown just the week before — the Bears clinched an automatic berth to the Eastern Championship.

In their last two home games of the season, the women’s lacrosse team lost to both Cornell on Friday and Boston College on Sunday in two close matchups. Cornell edged out Brown with just 1.5 seconds left on the clock, and BC beat Brown with 11 seconds left in the second overtime. But the Bears left the field Sunday feeling positive about their performance against a strong BC team.

The women’s lacrosse team extended its winning streak to three, longest of the season, with a 17-9 victory over Manhattan on Sunday. Kaela McGilloway ’12 led the offense with a career-high 10 points — five goals and five assists.

No. 20 Brown headed to California for spring break and went 6-6 in 12 games. Highlights included an upset victory over No. 19 Cal State at Bakersfield and a 7-6 overtime win against Cal State at San Bernadino on the final day of competition.
