Bears gear up for fight against Dartmouth

Some things get easier with time. The football season is not one of them. Injuries and fatigue settle in, the temperature falls, and most teams' hopes of a championship whittle down to near inexistence. Wednesday evening found the Bears practicing in wind and snow, laboring under the cold brilliance ...

Shaw '13: Aging Knicks exceed expectations

This will be another NBA column, but first, Doug "Muscle Hamster" Martin earned his way into today's sports page after rushing for 251 yards and four touchdowns (along with four catches for 21 yards, you PPR nuts) against Oakland last Sunday. If this guy doesn't decide to "Shaq it" and spends his offseason ...

Bruno ties Yale on Senior Night

The No. 11 men's soccer team battled Yale to a 1-1 double-overtime draw Saturday evening at Stevenson Field, dropping Bruno to second in the Ivy League standings. The hard-fought match was reminiscent of last year's game when the Bears edged the Bulldogs 1-0 in a tight overtime battle.

Bulldogs go scoreless against Bruno

Coming off a last-minute loss to Penn that virtually took them out of Ivy League championship contention, the Bears rebounded in resounding fashion, defeating Yale 20-0 Saturday at Brown Stadium. The victory marks Bruno's first shutout of the Bulldogs since 1949.

Bears seek to improve Ivy record in Bulldogs game

Bruno's chances at the Ivy League championship slipped away when Penn split the uprights in the final seconds of last weekend's disappointing 20-17 away loss. But almost a third of the schedule is in front of the Bears (4-3, 1-3 Ivy), who will battle Yale (2-5, 1-3) Saturday at Brown Stadium for pride ...

Shaw '13: The season is here

For those of you hungry to boo David Stern, I have one message for you: The season is here. The season is finally here. I unashamedly skipped the least-watched World Series in history (nothing good ever happens to Detroit, except the auto bailout) to catch some extra NBA preseason coverage, secretly ...

A case against expert TV analysis in baseball

Last week, I ended on a bit of a sour note, expressing discontent toward the sad truth that the remainder of the MLB postseason would be broadcast on FOX. It's not as if I have anything against FOX and its style of coverage (lie). Or that TBS, the other postseason broadcaster, has a dozen Vin Scullys ...

Shockley '14 leads water polo team to victory

For Brunonians hailing from California, the transition to college means trading Rainbow sandals for rain boots and year-round sunshine for snow and four seasons. For the 11 of 17 players on the men's water polo team from the Golden State, it was a homecoming of sorts when the squad traveled cross-country ...
