Over 70 students filled Peterutti Lounge Monday night for the opening convocation of the 10th annual Southeast Asian Heritage Week. The week, titled “Re(RIGHT)ing What We SEA,” is sponsored by the Watson Institute, the Program in Literary Arts and the Third World Center and will feature events including a traditional activity night, a debate on the Burmese elections and a cultural performance titled “Legends of the SEA” by a Balinese dancer.

In the past month, media coverage of LGBTQ teen suicides skyrocketed, prompting responses at colleges nationwide, including at a Brown University Community Council meeting last week and a vigil on campus the week before. As part of the response, Margaret Klawunn, vice president of campus life and student services, sent an e-mail Saturday to students about community standards.

Lost students found in N.H.

Three Brown students were rescued after being lost overnight in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. New Hampshire Fish and Game officers and volunteers found them safe at 2 a.m. Monday.
